I'm a Philly-born, New York-based actor. I graduated with my MFA from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University in 2019. Before ASDS, I studied theater at Oberlin College and the British American Drama Academy, and Apprenticed at Williamstown Theater Festival.
I've always had a passion for Shakespeare, poetry, hip-hop, and social justice. I love words and I worship what they can do, especially in times of crisis. Words alone are not enough but right now, they're more important than ever.
I've been acting since I was fourteen and I've had the good fortune to do so in many adventurous circumstances. Some of my favorite New York credits include Our House (Merv) and bobrauschenbergamerica (Becker) at the Three Legged Dog Theater, Associates in Communications (Matt, Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival), Lack of Milk (Father, NYC Summerfest), and Changeling (Vermandero, Easy Leap Theater co).
New York Shakespeare credits include Romeo and Juliet (Benvolio, Mercury Glass Theater co) and King John (Pembroke/Citizen, American Theater of Actors), both in New York. Some of my favorite summer theater roles include Far From Heaven (Ensemble, dir. Michael Greif) and Let’s Tap (Jonah, dir. Kevin Hourigan) at Williamstown Theater Festival, the Winters Tale (Camillo), Macbeth (Ross/Murderer), Inherit the Wind (Bert Cates) and All’s Well That Ends Well (Dumain) at Oberlin Summer Theater Festival.
Some principal film credits include Reno (MindfieldLA Gold Award) and Olivia (Tiburon International Film Festival) and the Greener Side (in development). I've also done background work for the Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Mr Robot, and the Deuce.
Currently, I teach at a New York Middle and High School but I also do workshops with other theater education companies like CreateGiveLive to help bolster arts education during this crisis. I've led Shakespeare intensives in Ohio and taught in many different capacities across the country.
Even with all these classes, there is no better way to hone one's acting skills than through one-on-one coaching. I offer coaching sessions both online and in-person. Check out my Coaching page for more details!
Writing was my gateway into theatre. I first got hooked on performance poetry in Middle School as I was growing up in Philadelphia, then adaptations of Mamet and Shakespeare in High School. By the time I was first exposed to Sam Shepard and Sarah Ruhl in college, the hook was sunk completely - my entire relationship with acting started from the words.
These days I've taken more and more to screenwriting. I have quite a few works in development, both independently and with TorYork Productions. My screen and stage writing both tend to focus on slightly bent fragments of history - those stranger-than-fiction facts that need just a bit of creative writing to convince readers of their veracity. I'm particularly drawn to magical realism, inspired by Fuentes and Marquez at a young age.
Written in-part with contributions from TorYork Productions, my first screenplay, Bishop, won the Toronto Bridgefest International Film Festival award for Best Screenplay in 2020. Stay tuned for more updates!
